WINEMAKER NOTES: Bottled in March of 2014, unfiltered, & bottled aged for an additional 8 months. A dark garnet color with complex nose of dark cherry, cassis, tobacco leaves, chocolate, clove & toasty oak. The American oak aging process gives plenty of toasty caramel notes & big tannins. It finishes strong with hints of nutmeg & vanilla bean. THE CAUSE: The Patriot wine is a tribute to the officers who protect us both locally & globally. WINEMAKER NOTES: Fruity & Spicy, with good breadth, & a crisp, pleasing acidity. Their tannic structure gives them very good ageing potential, it can be laid down for 5 to 15 years.
History & Tradition: According to tradition, the monks from the Church of Saint-Denis de Vergy (hence the name) planted this vineyard at the beginning of the 13th Century, In 1880, Joseph Drouhin who was from the Chablis region originally, chose the city of Beaune to found the business that bears his name. Maison Joseph Drouhin continues to ensure this valuable family heritage. VERY limited supply.
